About

UCO Collection

OGREEN’s UCO collection activity falls within the scope of ISCC-EU certification and aims to provide an appropriate response to the following questions:

  • Environmental – Improper disposal of UCO can lead to environmental contamination. UCO is also a crucial raw material for biofuel production, contributing to greater circularity and sustainability in the economy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil-based fuels.
  • Operational – Poor UCO management can result in high repair and maintenance costs for city sewage and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Legal – Non-compliance with legal regulations governing UCO management may lead to fines for economic operators producing this type of waste.

Production sources

UCO collection and recovery services aim to ensure the sustainable disposal of this type of waste and include the following production sources:

  • HORECA – Operators in the hospitality, restaurant, and café sectors.
  • Industry – Operators in economic sectors not included in the HORECA channel.
  • Domestic/Municipal – Domestic operators who dispose of UCO through direct delivery, by depositing it in containers (or other receptacles) provided by the operator, or indirectly, by using municipal containers collected by the operator.

UCO recovery is not carried out directly by the operator but is facilitated through the sale of this waste for biofuel production.

Smart Waste Management

In addition to UCO collection, OGREEN provides cleaning services for equipment associated with the management of this waste at production sites.

In the field of smart waste management solutions, the company’s activity aims to provide municipalities and businesses with greater insight into their waste production. This enables more informed decision-making based on representative data, optimizing waste management processes—such as defining collection routes and frequencies, vehicle load distribution, and container placement. Additionally, it promotes overall cost reduction and minimizes the environmental impact (GHG emissions) of these waste management processes.
