No. The collection service for UCO in the HORECA, Industry, and Domestic sectors is carried out by OGREEN free of charge.
What is the final destination of the UCO collected by OGREEN?
The UCO collection activity carried out by OGREEN includes quality control and temporary storage, with the goal of final redirection exclusively to the biofuel production industry.
What should be done with UCO produced in the restaurant, industrial, and domestic sectors?
Used Cooking Oil must be properly handled by a waste management operator authorized for UCO collection and valorization, such as OGREEN. To request the collection of your Used Cooking Oil, you should contact our support line (+351 229 687 102) or email geral@ogreen.pt.

What is ISCC – EU certification?
It is a system approved by the European Commission for the certification of sustainable fuels, in accordance with sustainability requirements and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction criteria set by the European Renewable Energy Directive. This certification system has been implemented by OGREEN.
What is the legal classification of Used Cooking Oils (UCOs)?
UCOs from the industrial, domestic, and HORECA sectors, whenever they contain materials of animal origin, are classified as animal by-products (ABPs). These also include “kitchen and table waste,” as defined in item 22 of Annex I of Commission Regulation 142/2011 of February 25, 2011. Consequently, they fall under the ABP Regulation – Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of October 21, issued by the European Parliament and the Council, which establishes sanitary rules for animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption.
